![]() ![]() I would compare it to playing a tricky hook on an instrument while you could call it easy upon acquiring the ability to execute it, to put the attention into the dynamic involved in that process and to do so gracefully turns every stage into an enlightening and memorable experience.Aside from the gameplay and the sagacious minimalist programming, the soundtrack is another very strong component making this game as venerable as it is. Every NPC path and behavior is unique and simple, yet with enough focus within grasp. I’ve developed much of my skill in the genre only with the help of this game and it’s raw and leading edge(for it’s time) stealth system. To get grandmaster on every mission takes as much diligence and patience as any solid stealth title requires. graphically it has all the funky traits of early 3D games but the way it was programmed and the amount of stylistic details the developers put into it make it a remarkable little work of art.One could say it is too easy at times, but that type of person would likely be getting a thug rank on every mission. This is my favorite PS Game and I still endorse it at this age and try to have people play it. Dying in the boss’ hands means you have to start the whole level from the beginning- No saves during a level.- Joypad controls are difficult to master- but are necessary to support all the ninjitsu moves. This can take a long time.- Each level is long and the boss is at the end of the level. I ended up buying a copy of the soundtrack too.- Variety of ninjitsu moves makes killing stylishly fun.Cons:- Since it is a stealth game you have to be very patient to make sure no one can see you before you go for the kill. ![]() Far too cool.Pros:- Many many ways to finish a level.- Stealth is heart throbbingly fun.- Plentiful cheats for amateurs.- Wonderful soundtrack. Now I can do a reverse back flip off a roof behind an enemy and exact a perfect kill. I used to just jump off a roof and try and hack at my enemy. The controls are difficult to master at first, but stick with it and you will eventually be rewarded. ![]() This is most definitely one of PS1’s best games. The game becomes more enjoyable the better you are able to master your ninjitsu skills. However if you are willing to accept/ignore that difference you will find Tenchu a very satisfying and deeply fun game. ![]() Since it is a PS1 game its graphics really show the PS1’s age against the PS2. ![]()
